Robert Pacilio

A beloved teacher and author of two successful novels, Robert Pacilio has inspired countless generations of students and readers. For 32 years, he taught high school English and was awarded San Diego County's "Teacher of the Year." Due to the success of his first novel, Meetings at the Metaphor Café, his work has been adopted in many school districts as part of the English curriculum. Recently retired, he lives in San Diego with his wife, Pam, but regularly speaks at various educational conferences and school districts. He is always pushing teachers to realize the importance of teaching to students, not at them. Pacilio enjoys visiting schools, where he reads portions of his novels with classes, answers questions, and turns classrooms across California into the students’ very own Metaphor Café.
